Evander and the Jets

Evander Kane missed the game against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night at Rogers Arena because: (vote for your favourite in the comment section below)

a) he was late for the team bus
b) he went drinking at a bar on a game day
c) he wore sweat pants to the arena
d) he's injured
e) coach's decision
f) Dustin Byfuglien threw his pants in the shower
g) he wants out
h) his balls were deflated while getting a lap dance
i) all of the above

Depending on any number of reports, or what time of the day it was, one could believe
any of the above reasons for why the Winnipeg Jets, in a tough fight for a playoff spot in the NHL's Western Conference, would sit one of their best players for a game against a conference rival who they are battling for a playoff spot.

We were all rather surprised to hear that Jets head coach Paul Maurice had made Kane a healthy scratch for the game and that it was a coach's decision.  There was rampant speculation on why this decision was made.  The Jets seemed rather tight lipped, but in the 24-48 hours since, we have heard a lot of different stories leak out.  None of them seem very good and all of them speak to a larger, lingering problem that seems to have been going on for some time and isn't going away anytime soon.
